Extends Heartfelt Support to NYSC Corps Members
OYO STATE — In a remarkable display of generosity and commitment to youth empowerment, the Iyaoloja General of Oyo State, Princess Folashade Azeezat Abeo NURUDEEN, graced the Closing Ceremony of the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training program at Iseyin. During her visit, she exhibited unwavering support for NYSC Corps members by purchasing their products with a generous contribution of two hundred thousand naira.
Princess Folashade Azeezat Abeo NURUDEEN also took the time to explore local markets and paid a visit to the prestigious Ado Awaye Palace. During her interactions with Corps members, she imparted valuable advice on vocational skills, emphasizing the importance of dedication and perseverance in mastering various skills through the SAED Vocational initiatives.
In a remarkable pledge, she represented the Oyo State Market Traders by promising to donate a substantial sum of 500 bags of cement to support the construction of the NYSC Camp Multipurpose Hall.
The Director of NYSC in Oyo State, Mr Odoba Abel Oche expressed profound gratitude, acknowledging Princess Folashade Azeezat Abeo NURUDEEN as a role model whose inspiring journey is destined to positively impact the lives of countless Corps members.
His Royal Majesty, Oba Rev’d Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi, Makuledoye II, Odubade I, the Alado of Ado Awaye Kingdom, extended warm appreciation for the Iyaoloja General’s visit to his Palace. He emphasized the historical significance of her visit and highlighted Ado Awaye’s areas of economic advantage, including agriculture and tourism. Notably, he drew attention to Ado Awaye’s unique distinction as the home of the only natural suspended lake in Africa and one of only two worldwide. Additionally, he mentioned the presence of Africa’s sole cassava-based sorbitol factory with a remarkable production capacity.
During her visit to Alado of Ado Awaye Palace, Iyaloja General pledged to support the Palace by providing a generator for ongoing usage, along with a monthly token for fuel. She further committed to procuring grinding machines, sewing machines, and other empowerment items for the Ado Awaye women, with the grand finale scheduled to coincide with the Iyake Suspended Lake Festival in November.
Accompanying the Iyaoloja General were prominent figures from Oyo State, including the Secretary of the Market Traders Association of Nigeria (MATAN) Oyo State, Alhaja Toyin Jamiu, and Alhaja Bilikis Ogungbile, Chairman of Oyo Central Senatorial District, Alhaja Doyin Jamiu, Chairman of Oyo South, Iyaloja of Oyo North Senatorial District, Iyaloja of Birthday, and the Oyo State Yoruba Youth Leader, Asoju Odo Alawode Rahmon Akintunde, among other distinguished individuals.
