The Oyo State High Court of Justice has adjourned the Economics and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) case against one of the co-Directors of Lee Fakino Nigeria Limited, Mr. Emmanuel Obakin to December 4th of 2023 for commencement of trial.

 

Kindly recall that, EFCC on September 12, 2023 brought Mr. Obakin Emmanuel Ajibola of Lee Fakino Nigeria Limited before Justice Ladiran Akintola of the Oyo State High Court over four counts charge allegations involving and in major bothering on unlawful withdrawal of N251,685,000 (Two Hundred and Fifty-One Million, Six Hundred and Eighty-five thousand naira only) allegation said to belong to the company.

 

It should be noted as well that, Mr. Emmanuel Obakin Ajibola is one of the two Directors of the company, and as well a signatory to the account of Lee Fakino Nigeria Limited with Mr. Akindele Fajemiyo, the Managing Director and CEO.

 

The presiding judge, Justice Ladiran Akintola during the court sitting on Monday adjourned the commencement of the trial to December 4th, 2023 after the two counsels, prosecuting and defending, and other parties agreed to begin the trial on 4th December, 2023.

 

According to our correspondent who spoke with Mr. Emmanuel Ajibola Obakin after the court sitting understand that Mr. Obakin had pleaded not guilty of the four counts charge levied against him by EFCC during his first appearance and why he was granted bail and not remanded as argued by Oyelakin Oyediran, prosecuting counsel.

 

“It is still a court matter. I am limited in my statement. As you can hear from the presiding judge, Justice Ladiran Akintola, we’re coming back here in December. And again, I am not guilty as pleaded.” Obakin added.
