Nigerians have been enjoined to support government at all levels so as to facilitate quick dividends of democracy in the country. Making the appeal during a radio programme “Ayekooto” on Splash FM in Ibadan on Tuesday anchored by Olayinka Agboola, Oyo state Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Dr Olukemi Afolayan exhorts the citizens to look beyond the present challenging -time and put their trust in their elected leaders to redeem the present situation.
In a press release made available to the press in Ibadan today by the media unit of the Agency shortly after the programme, Dr Olukemi Afolayan appealed to the people to support the present leadership to find lasting solutions to all the challenges facing the country presently.
To corroborate her earlier position that the Federal Government is benefiting from the feedback loop of the Agency, the State Director said “the fact that the present administration is dominated by youthful and virile minds with capacity to make positive impacts was one of the suggestions of the Agency to the Government. She pleaded with citizens to be patient and supportive of the government.
Talking on election violence that is now minimal in the State, Dr Afolayan attributed it to a continuous “Say no to Violence” campaigns mounted by the Agency prior to the last elections which has resulted in making violence during the elections a thing of the past in the State.
Oyo state NOA Director therefore called on the citizens to imbibe various campaigns of the Agency on the attitudinal Reorientation such as “Do the right thing, transform Nigeria” and others aimed at restoring positive values that are gradually at low ebb among the citizens.
Dr Afolayan urged Nigerians to keep hope alive and have positive mindsets that very soon, things will take shape in the country. She also implores Citizens to trust their leaders and support them to transform the nation.
The state Director finally charged citizens not to leave the transformation of the society to Government alone saying that “Value Re-Orientation is a joint responsibility of all”.
