As part of strategies to ensure a smooth, orderly and credible local government elections, that will record massive turn-out of voters as well as peaceful conduct during the forthcoming council polls in the state.
In a release made available to the Press in Ibadan after the meeting, the Oyo state NOA Director expressed optimism that the next local government election shall be devoid any irregularities that can mar elections and hopefully will be adjudged as one of the best .
The Director also promised to avail the electoral commission of the agency mobilization officers and WAI Brigade volunteers that cuts across every local government in the state. She further maintained that with effective grassroots mobilisation and proper sensitisation, the challenges of voters apathy will be laid to rest.
In his response, the chairman of OYSIEC, Barrister Isiaka Adeola Olatunji SAN described the partnership as vital for the mass mobilisation of the citizens to participate in the election and also on enlightenment for credible conduct during the election. Barrister Olagunju reiterated the commission’s commitment to the conduct of a credible election.
The Courtesy Visit was rounded up with presentation of election sensitization materials and the national flag by the NOA team to the chairman. The highpoint of this was the mounting and hoisting of the national flag at the OYSIEC headquarters.
