In a bid to have an all inclusive campaign exercise and to bridge the much speculated gap that exist between the national leader of the party and the President Muhammad Buhari as the 2019 general election draw nearer, President Muhammad Buhari has handed over the Presidential Campaign to the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Consequently, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will now leading the party’s campaigns for the February general elections as against President Muhammadu Buhari, who is the Chairman of the APC Campaign Council.

This was made known to the general public early today when President Muhammad Buhari stated that while inaugurating the campaign council of the party at the national level.
According to President Muhammad Buhari, who is also the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, said the reason was that ‘he didn’t want governance to suffer because of elections.’
According to the administrative organization of the campaign council, Tinubu and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo are Co-Chairmen of the Council and by plan, were to deputise the President, who ordinarily should lead the campaigns.
President Muhammad Buhari inaugurated the council at the International Conference Centre Abuja, an event that had presence of the National Chairman of the party, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, Ministers, Governors and other council members in attendance.
The campaign train will then be moving to Bauchi State on Thursday, and that will mark the first assignment for the National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
