The Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU), Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo Chapter has joined the academic family in felicitating Professor Olanike Kudirat Adeyemo over her appointment as the Secretary to the Oyo State Government-designate by the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE.
In a release personally signed and made available by the Branch Chairman, Dr. Michael Bamidele Ojo (MOB), the Union describes the appointment of the COMSTECH Distinguished scholar and the Pioneer Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation and Strategic Partnerships), University of Ibadan as “putting a right peg in a right hole”.
Quoting the release, “We received today with joy the appointment of an Iseyin-born academic, COMSTECH Distinguished scholar and the Pioneer Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation and Strategic Partnerships) at the University of Ibadan, Professor Olanike Kudirat Adeyemo as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG)- designate by the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde, FNSE. As a Union that has followed the activities of this government properly, we commend the choice of the Governor for this exalted position.”
“Prof. Olanike Kudirat Adeyemo, a Professor at the Department of Veterinary Public Health and Preventive Medicine, University of Ibadan, is undoubtedly a round peg in a round hole and we are very sure that she shall bring her wealth of experience into supporting the Omituntun 2.0 agenda of the Governor, particularly in advancing the cause of educational development. We are sure that having her from the ivory tower coupled with her relationship and understanding of labour unions, will ease the realization of many of our agitations with the Oyo State Government.”
