That the state leadership of my party, All Progressives Congress, in conjunction with major stakeholders have decided to participate in the forthcoming Local Government election, is no longer a news; what’s newsworthy is the number of Youths that have decided to throw their hats into the ring, and contest as the party’s candidate in the much publicised 2024 LG election.

In Ona-Ara Local Government, the primary election would be a “straight battle” between an old guard, the party’s candidate in the 2023 House of Assembly election and one time chairman of the LG, Hon. Ismail Babatunde Akanni and a young folk, Hon. Adegoke Bolaji Gbengbeleku, son of the late business mogul and philanthropist par excellence, Alhaji Raji Adegoke.

While the ability of the duo to perform excellently at Akanran Secretariat of the LG has never been in doubt, we should be mindful that the LG election would be another “face-off” between the 2 major political party in the state.

Considering that the ruling party in the state has fielded a “newbie”, who is coming with academic qualifications and entrepreneurial experience(s) that has spanned about 2 decades to fly her ticket, how best can we show seriousness that we’re ready to defeat them, than fielding a young man with all the needed academic qualifications that one can ever think of, as well as entrepreneurial acumen that has spanned over a decade.

BJ as fondly called, is a Senior Lecturer at Wolex Polytechnic, Iwo, Osun State. He is a Chartered Accountant, Member TRCN, amongst other professional qualifications, and is currently rounding off his PhD thesis. Aren’t we blessed to have such a youngster in our midst?

BJ, the Proprietor of Jesus Geneva’s Schools, has several businesses within and outside of Ona-Ara Local Government.

As our party members go out this week to decide on who flies her ticket in the next race to Oke-Akanran, there’s no better way to tell the world our readiness, other than to field Bolaji Adegoke Gbengbeleku, our own Ọmọ-Olóore in Ona-Ara to fly her ticket.
