The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode O. Adebowale, mni, FAS, has enjoined the management of Access Bank Plc to ensure that the relationship fostered by the opening of a branch of the bank within the University campus is mutually beneficial.
He made the call during a courtesy visit paid to his office by top management staff of the Bank prior the opening of the UI branch of Access Bank.
He noted that hitherto, Access Bank had provided banking services and loans to many staff of the University in order to make living better for them.
Professor Adebowale said the University had before now discouraged the siting of Bank branches within the University for security reasons.
He said management decided to give Access Bank a chance in the hope that the Bank would ensure that security challenges do not arise.
The Vice-Chancellor urged the Bank to discharge its Corporate Social Responsibilities to the University as well as key into its 75th anniversary celebrations.
