Without minding the electoral loss in during the last general election, the senator representating the good people of Oyo Central Senatorial District, Sen. Monsurst Olajumoke Sunmonu has yesterday 14th May 2019, commissioned some educational and community projects in Ona-Ara Local Government.
Below are the description of the projects commissioned by the distinguished Senator Sunmonu :
BLOCK OF 5 CLASSROOMS
You may recall that on 20 February 2019, about one week to the recently held national elections, Sunmonu ‘broke ground’ on the foundation of the block of five [5] classrooms at Airport Community High School, Igem City, Ona-Ara Local Government. As a true representative whose interest is the welfare of her people, Sunmonu completed the project and attended a commissioning ceremony to present the classrooms to teeming students and staff of the school.
In thanking Sunmonu, the school principal noted that for a number of years they had unsuccessfully tried to have classrooms built, despite approaching relevant authorities. Parents and teachers began to shower Sunmonu with prayers, particularly noting that the construction took place after the election.
BENCHES AND DESKS
Sunmonu also stopped at Community Primary School, Ogbere Oloba, Ona-Ara to inspect the thirty [30] benches and desks she provided to improve the sitting arrangements for student.
The primary school children began singing songs of praise about how they now have chairs to sit on.
TRANSFORMERS
Sunmonu also inspected and commissioned two out of the four electricity transformers, which she had previously provided to communities in Ona-Ara Local Government. These communities included: [1] Ona-Ara Hospital and surrounding community, Jegede and [2] New Town, Amuloko Area.
The CMD of Ona-Ara Hospital, Dr Oladipo, who had made the request for the transformer at the opening of the hospital, noted that Sunmonu promised and fulfilled her pledge to provide the transformer. Sunmonu also said that due to the size and capacity of the transformer, the local community must also have opportunity to make us of it.
The entire community who benefited from the dividend of democracy brought to them by the senator express their utmost appreciations and applauded Sen. Monsurat for the development brought to the local government. It should be noted as well that, those projects have been done before the election but the busy schedule of the senator didn’t allow her to cut the tape on the project.
