The Executive Director of the Brain Builder Youth Development Initiatives (BBYDI) has urged the Kwara State National Youths Service Corps members to be digitally savvy as the modern-day employers are more concerned with the skills and competence, they’re bringing on board before certificates.

“My dear brothers and sisters, employers are more concerned with your skills that tally with theirs, and the inability to not be able to fit into that by having necessary digital skills will knock you out of such an organization.”

“If you have noticed, there are many unemployed graduates outside there. Not that they do not have the certificates but they lack the suitable skills required. This is one of the reason to have a deep thinking of where you want to be in years to come but it should be an informed one that will help and boost your career.”

“It is not difficult to be digitally improved. You can go on to virtual courses from reliable platforms to have more digital knowledge.”

The corps members in their thousands with 1,006 male and 941 female thanks Mr. Abideen for the insightful orientation, knowledge and mentorship on digital skills acquisition.

The digital training which was applauded received many positive response and assessment from trainee, some of which are:

The training exposed me to opportunities in the digital world and how i can build my online presence. My four years as an undergraduate couldn’t get me the knowledge but with two hours 30minutes spent today. It’s really worth it. I would appreciate it if training of this nature could be coming up periodically.

Since my resumption at the orientation camp, the Digital Skills For Africa is undoubtedly the best i have ever received, i love the over two hours exposure on SDGS, CDS and Digital Skills. I now know how to promote my brand online and how my graphical solution experience can fetch me money through remote jobs. Thank you MindTheGap and Google

AKAEZE JULIET

The trainer was super awesome. He is really up to the task. He provided answers to all our questions even the stupid ones. I love the analogy of using a local market for the explanation. I want to implore the organizers to follow up with more training like this that can build the capacity of Nigerian Youth.
