The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode Oyebode Adebowale, mni, FAS, has received a team of scholars from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, School of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science, Durban, South Africa in his office.
The team was led to the office of the Vice-Chancellor by the Head, Department of Statistics, University of Ibadan, Prof. O.I. Osowole.
The 3-man team was on a collaboration and research initiation visit to the Department of Statistics, University of Ibadan.
According to the spokesperson of the team, Professor Temesgen Zewotir, the visit is to solidify the collaboration between the two departments to promote African scholarship and partnership.
The VC encouraged them to ensure the success of the collaboration, urging them to leverage the existing cultural similarities to find solutions to African challenges.
He assured them of the support of the University through the office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research, Innovation and Strategic Partnerships.
Other members of the team were Prof. Retius Chifurira and Prof. Knowledge Chinhamu.
