The journey which started a year ago has yielded many fruitful results for the Rotary Club of Iyanganku-Ibadan under the watch and leadership of an achiever, goal-getter, inspiring, and outstanding Rotarian Kemi Akinpelu, Synergy president for 2022/2023 rotary year.
Adekemi Oyepeju Akinpelu being the 34th and 2nd female president of the club has further validated the readiness of women in our society for leadership positions as her leadership year is a testament to the need for women’s empowerment in governance and why key stakeholders should increase the seat of women in administrative setting.
While giving thanks to God Almighty for Granting her a successful landing as the club president, and for the ability she uses in representing the club at different fora, she further revealed that there is no smooth leadership journey as the road was not tough but highly tasking which calls for her full attention and total commitment.
“You can’t run this rotary club as president without investing your total self, skills, and time in it. There is no shortcut to that.”
“Not minding the smooth and rough rotary year journey as president, I will specially and wholeheartedly thank everyone who has in one way or the other step out of their home to render their support in any form towards the success of my administration and RC Iyaganku-Ibadan as a whole.”
“To my very committed and highly supportive club members, I can’t thank you enough for not relenting or tired of those aware and unaware, lighter and burdensome assigned tasks, it is for the good of the club. Thank you for not leaving me alone on this journey.”
“And to my synergy board members, league of past presidents, my bundle of appreciation goes to you as well. I was able to succeed and overcome all huddles and successfully paddled the boat of the club to a glorious destination.”
“In my rotary year, I was able to observe the 12 monthly themes.”
“I am only leaving the stage for another president to display his leadership acumen and to take RC Iyaganku-Ibadan to another greater level. Trust me, I, will continue to work for Rotary in at different capacities, and make humanity a greater one.” She concluded.
