Ahead of NUC Verification Exercise, Oyo Education Commissioner, Adelabu Visits Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo
As plans are on top gear to host the National Universities Commission (NUC) Team for the verification exercise for Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, the Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Salihu Abdulwaheed Adelabu has paid an assessment visit to the institution.
According to a release by the Special Assistant on Media Matters to the Vice Chancellor, ‘Wale Adeoye, the renowned Professor of Finance and Public Management who was accompanied by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olusanjo Joel Adeniyi and the Director, Higher Education Programmes, Mr. Oluwole Adewale was received by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan and top management members.
In his welcome address, the University Chief Executive appreciated the Honourable Commissioner and his team for finding time out to see the readiness of the University ahead of the National Universities Commission Resource Verification Exercise. “Your Honour Sir, I welcome you to Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, our institution, your institution. Let me first thank the Visitor to the University, His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE for his vision, which came into fruition with the upgrade of this institution from a College of Education to its current status. Since my appointment on August 9, 2023, I have been working to set a standard and work is ongoing as we are approaching the NUC Resource Verification Exercise. We re not leaving any stone unturned. We are doing all we can to have all our proposed courses scaling through. I want to thank you for your love and support for us which you have consistently demonstrated. Your visit of today indeed, is an icing of the cake. On behalf of the Management, Staff and the entire members of the University community, I express my profound appreciation to you and your team, Sir”, submitted the renowned Professor of Economics.
In his brief comments, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology helmsman commended the Vice Chancellor for upholding the vision behind setting up of the University. Quoting him, “I have been following your activities since you assumed duty in the University and I have not been disappointed. I am happy that the Visitor indeed made the right decision in your appointment and I am sure we got it right. I am here with my team to see to ourselves your preparations ahead of the NUC Resource Verification Exercise. I am happy to see that you are already crossing the ‘t’s and dotting the (i)s. This exercise is crucial to the Oyo State Government and we can not afford to fail. I am looking forward to having results that all your courses are approved.”
The Vice Chancellor later led other management members to conduct the Commissioner and his team round the campus to see the readiness of every staff and level of preparedness in the area of equipment and facilities. “With what I have seen here, I am confident that our University shall scale through. It is however important to call on all staffers of the University to key into the vision and give maximum support before, during and after the exercise for the institution to reach the highest level it is aiming”, submitted the Kishi-born technocrat while addressing Head of Departments after his tour round the institution.
