….celebrates his emergence as new Vice Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state has said that the completion and commissioning of the state government’s lodge in Abuja, the nation’s capital is another generational legacy by Governor Seyi Makinde.
While celebrating Makinde for his emergence as the new Vice Chairman of Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF), the ruling party in Oyo state equally commended the governor for the feat describing it a deserving reward for his contribution to nation building.
Akeem Olatunji, the Publicity Secretary of PDP in the state, who made this known in a press statement on behalf of the ruling party on Thursday May 25 also described Makinde as a political Spartacus that would champion the course of a new Nigeria.
The ruling PDP explained that the completion and commissioning of the governor’s lodge in Abuja implied that more money would be preserved in the state for economic gains.
Olatunji disclosed that because of the office of the Executive Governor and his Deputy as well as other state government functionaries, the newly reconstructed governor’s lodge would provide a home away from home, away from lodging in hotels at huge costs.
Olatunji equally noted that Makinde has perpetually silenced his detractors by completing and commissioning the edifice. He added that the remarks of the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, who was invited to commission the lodge was heartwarming and reassuring that the people of Oyo state are indeed blessed with such a visionary Leader as Governor Makinde.
Olatunji said: “Makinde has given every sons and daughters of Oyo state a huge sense of pride as originating from the pacesetter’s state because what we had in Abuja for many years was nothing short of a national embarrassment in the form of our governor’s lodge.
“It took only the foresight of a visionary Leader, a genuinely committed and purposeful leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde to finally take away the shame and bequeathing to us a beautiful edifice befitting of our pacesetter’s status in Nigeria.
“The presence of opposition lawmakers-elect of the national assembly at the epochal occasion was also a testament that Makinde is already changing the political dynamics of Nigeria and that gesture simply validates the governor’s service based approach to politics different from what used to be in the past.
“We equally celebrate the people’s governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, over his emergence as the new Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF). This is a clear recognition of his growing political influence and clout across the length and width of Nigeria.
“We’re proud to witness this political era under our Leader as a party in Oyo state and the entire South Western Nigeria, who has over the years been forged into a political spartacus championing the course of a new Nigeria.
