IBADAN — An Higher National Diploma (HND) graduate of Federal School of Statistics, Ibadan have been reportedly shot by a member of Nigeria Army during signing out celebration.

 

The incident was reportedly said to have been caused by the refusal of the student, victim, to obey the directive of the officers of Nigeria Army station in the school area.

 

According to an eye witness as reported by oduduwanews.com, “the student was one of the HND gradusting students of the institution and was asked to remove his cap by officers of Nigeria Army, but the student refused to, and this angered the soldiers and they descend on him.”

 

“The student was said to continue to have engaged in heated argument with the officers who had earlier alleged him of being a member of the dreaded Eye Confraternity by him putting on the semblance of a cultist cap.”

 

“In the course of the heated argument, one of the soldiers pulled the trigger and shot the student on the leg.”

 

It was further learnt that, the rector of the institution, Dr. K. O. Balogun quickly waded in and call for immediate treatment of the student while investigation of the matter will commence immediately.
