As part of the efforts to let secondary school students, most especially those in this part of the world be aware of the importance of digital education and skills, the Brain Builders Youth Development Initiatives (BBYDI) in collaboration with Google has enlightened hundreds of numbers of secodary school students about the usefulness of GoogleMyBusiness.

At a training where students of Queen Elizabeth Secondary School Ilorin, mostly female were taking through digital training and how to explore different digital platforms for the advancement of businesses. Step by step approach on how to place business on google were taught, and many other exploration areas was exposed to students.

Speaking after the training, Olasupo Abideen, who is the head and Executive Director of the non-profit organization explain that, the purpose of having the training, for secondary students here, was to make them aware and informed of series of opportunity therein Google, beyond the name people knew it for.

“We have seen that, our younger ones in public schools are lagging behind in the digital transformation of the global community. We must close the gap. And not only them, we must make them see the benefits of exploring google space.”

“Why we observed that, most of the public students are always finding it difficult in tagging along in later time. One other reason why we took this training to them. They have learn how to use Google MyBusiness, and we believe that, they will get home and place their parents businesses on Google space, for those having parent doing one or two businesses, as to increas their sales and leads.”

“You know when their parents are having more sales and leads, they will generate more income and consequently willing and capable of sending these categor of students further in pursuit of their education. Social security is assured through that.”

“And these students after graduating will not need competeing with their colleagues without this digital skills. They would have been more better equipped. And even have the ability to create their own business to help the unemployment rate in the country.” he concluded.
